This is one of the perfect movies Hollywood has delivered. All the actors especially Denzel Washington have given mesmerizing performances. Not all of you may like it though. It is an extremely slow and steady paced story. The film captivatingly shows the atrocious race apartheid that used to exist in U.S. A young black teacher decides to stand up to the injustice bestowed upon his kind, at the same time leading a college debate team of black students to challenge Harvard in national championship. So sit back n enjoy some meaningful cinema.
very true.....the movie has put the condition faced by blacks in those days very vividly....bravura performance by denzel washington...although absence of a hooking story,,,quite predictable at times...but still the movie has proven its worth...throughout the movie i did not wait for what would happen...rather i kept a weather eye for how it would happen,,,,it is a mammoth task to sketch real lives on screen....( relatively less famous characters are chosen) and still it has accomplished to make our rigid heads turn,,our ears believe..and eyes see the truth..
